Cataract Surgery and Treatment

Many patients suffer from cataracts.  A cataract occurs when the lens in the eye becomes cloudy.  Most cataracts are related to aging of the eye but some are associated with medications and underlying illnesses.  Symptoms of cataract include blurred vision, glare, and diminished color sensitivity.

Arlington Eye Physicians uses the latest technology lenses to improve your vision after cataract surgery.  To promote spectacle independence, we offer toric lenses to correct astigmatism, and multifocal lenses to enable vision for both reading and distance.  Each patient is carefully evaluated to determine the proper lens style to fit his or her needs.

YAG capsulotomy

Some patients develop scar tissue surrounding the lens implant after cataract surgery leading to blurred vision and glare.  An instrument called a YAG laser can be used to remove the scar tissue and improve vision.
